Campaign for the Rehabilitation of the Ontologically Challenged
There is a class of people who go unrecognised in our supposedly "equal"
society. A class of people who are denied even the most basic of human
rights. A class of people who have been forced for too long to suffer in
silence.
I'm talking about the ontologically challenged. You may have heard them
called less pleasant things: "imaginary", "non-existent", "unreal".
These hurtful terms should be relegated to the schoolyard where they
belong.
Just consider the problems these people have to face:
- They cannot receive any form of social security.
- They cannot be employed.
- They cannot own any kind of property.
- They have no recourse to the justice system.
We all proclaim our commitment to equality. It's time we did something
about the appalling suffering that is caused to these unfortunate
people, who, through no fault of their own, are differently real.
